Restore Your Confidence with a Mummy Makeover in London

Do you struggle with loose skin, stretch marks, or stubborn fat pockets after childbirth?

Are you feeling less like yourself after childbirth, noticing changes like loose skin, stretch marks, or stubborn fat that just won’t budge?

It’s completely understandable. Many women experience these changes, and a Mummy Makeover could be the answer to regaining your confidence and feeling comfortable in your own skin again.

What exactly is a Mummy Makeover?

Think of it as a personalised plan, designed specifically for you. It’s not a one-size-fits-all procedure; it’s a combination of treatments tailored to address your unique concerns and help you achieve your desired results. Typically, a Mummy Makeover includes:

    • Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty): This is often a core part of the makeover. It tightens those stretched abdominal muscles and removes any excess skin, creating a smoother, firmer tummy.
    • Breast Enhancement (Augmentation, Lift, or Reduction): Pregnancy and breastfeeding can significantly alter your breasts. This part of the makeover focuses on restoring volume, reshaping, and lifting your breasts to a more youthful position.
    • Liposuction: For those stubborn pockets of fat that resist diet and exercise, liposuction can help to sculpt and contour specific areas, creating a more balanced and harmonious silhouette.

Each plan is customised to your unique needs and goals, ensuring natural-looking results that enhance your body’s shape while maintaining a harmonious balance.

What are the benefits of a Mummy Makeover?

    • Improved body shape and contour.
    • A significant boost in self-esteem and confidence.
    • A more youthful and rejuvenated appearance.

    FAQ: Your Questions Answered

Am I a good candidate for a Mummy Makeover?

If you’re looking to address changes in your breasts and abdomen caused by pregnancy, are generally healthy, and have realistic expectations about the results, you’re likely a suitable candidate. We generally recommend waiting at least six months after giving birth to allow your body to recover. While a Mummy Makeover won’t prevent future pregnancies, it’s usually best to complete your family before undergoing the procedure to maintain your results.

Should I try to lose weight before the surgery?

Yes, it’s ideal to be at or near your target weight before a Mummy Makeover. Significant weight loss after the surgery could lead to more sagging skin or drooping breasts, which might affect your results.

What kind of scarring can I expect?

Scarring is a natural part of any surgery, but we take great care to minimize it. Breast scars will vary depending on the technique used, and may involve incisions along the breast crease, around the areola, or a combination. Tummy tuck scars are typically low, extending from hip to hip, just above the pubic area, with a possible scar around the belly button. Liposuction scars are usually very small and hidden in natural skin creases. Remember, scars will continue to fade and flatten over the first year.

How long will my recovery take?

Recovery time varies depending on the specific procedures and your job. If you have a desk job, you might return to work sooner than someone with a physically demanding job. We recommend gradually reintroducing low-impact activities like walking and cycling before resuming more strenuous exercise. You might experience some pain for one to two weeks, and abdominal tightness for several weeks. A compression garment will be provided to help with swelling and bruising, and should be worn for four to six weeks. Avoid vigorous exercise for six to 12 weeks. If you choose to spread the surgery out over multiple operations, it will lengthen the total recovery time.

Are the results of a Mummy Makeover permanent?

The results are long-lasting, but not entirely permanent. Your body naturally changes with age, and skin elasticity decreases over time. To help maintain your results, we recommend a healthy lifestyle, including good nutrition, exercise, and avoiding smoking. Smoking can accelerate aging and hinder healing. Future touch-up procedures, like liposuction or a breast lift, might be considered. Also, it is best to have this procedure after you are done having children, and to maintain a stable weight.
