How Liposuction Works

Liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure that involves using a thin tube called a cannula to gently suction out fat cells. Various techniques, such as tumescent or laser-assisted liposuction, can be tailored to your specific needs and goals. While some swelling and bruising are expected during recovery, they are temporary and subside over time.

During Your Procedure

• Fat Removal: Small incisions will be made, and a thin tube connected to a vacuum device will be inserted to suction out the loosened fat.
• Closing and Bandaging: The incisions will be closed with sutures, and you’ll be fitted with a compression garment to aid healing and minimise swelling.

The procedure can usually take between 1 and 3 hours.

After Your Procedure

You will be fitted with a supportive corset or compression bandages to reduce swelling and bruising.
Antibiotics may be prescribed to prevent infection, and you can take mild painkillers for pain and swelling relief.
