The effects of blepharoplasty surgery are permanent in that skin that was removed does not return. However the ageing process does not stop with this or any other cosmetic surgeries and therefore you are likely to age and develop laxity around the eyes in the years to come. In general however most people who have had previous blepharoplasty operations do not require similar surgery again for at least 10-12 years.
