Patients will be back to normal in a few days yet should rest and be gentle with the face and hair, since the skin may be both tender and numb, and may not respond normally at first. Patients should avoid strenuous activity, yet mild stretching and walking are fine. At the beginning the face may feel unusual from the swelling, and facial movements may be slightly stiff.
